About the restaurant

What kind of cuisine does Canapé serve?

We serve worldly cuisine with preferably as many local, Belgian products as possible. Ranging from Oriental chicken skewers to a Lebanese salad, Belgian hand-cut fries, Zeeland oysters… and so much more.

I have a food allergy, now what?

Thanks to our food-sharing concept, you’re sure to find something you can eat, but feel free to provide this information with your reservation. If we know sufficiently in advance, we can, as far as possible, provide an adaptation or an alternative (e.g. gluten-free bread).

Can I also have brunch at your place?

Yes you can! On Sundays, we swap our menu for a brunch formula (35 euros p.p. – 15 euros for children under 10). We serve brunch per dish at the table. So don’t expect the classic buffet, but four dishes with everything we think a good breakfast should include, such as yoghurt, granola, eggs, bacon, salmon, bruschetta, soup, etc. You will also find an assortment of coffee biscuits, pistolets, cheese and cold meats, and one drink of your choice is even included.

Is Canapé accessible for wheelchair users?

Of course! We have a toilet for the disabled and a bridge in front of the entrance. If you let us know when you make your reservation, we will arrange the tables accordingly.

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, we cannot welcome dogs in the restaurant, but they are welcome on our (covered) terrace.

Is there parking available?

Definitely! In fact, the restaurant is located at the end of the (free) public car park ‘Panquin’. Should this be full anyway, you can park your car 5 minutes’ walk away in the (paying) underground car park ‘Markt’ or you can park in the surrounding streets according to the regulations in force.

Do I need to make a reservation if I just want to have a drink?

No! But it’s best to give us a call to find out if we still have a space available. The place is also rented out for private functions and we would be sorry to have to send you home again….

About the venue

What is included?

‘What you see is what you get’ – When you rent one of our venues, it includes crockery, tables, chairs and Canapé furnishings. You don’t need to worry about staff and final cleaning either. Do you want different china, furniture or table linen? Then we advise you to work with an event manager so that he or she can help you hire these materials.

Can we bring our own food?

We are primarily a restaurant, so we are happy to cook for you ourselves. The venue price does NOT include catering, so you can still choose one of our formula that you feel comfortable with. We work with three fixed formulas: Fingerfood, Chef’s Choice and Chef’s Favourites. Feel free to ask more via e-mail.

What about the drinks?

We usually choose to charge for the actual consumption of drinks at the end of the evening. But if you prefer to be on the safe side, we can also apply a fixed price (35 euro p.p.). For this, your guests get a glass of prosecco or a mocktail on arrival and can enjoy our house wines, draught beers, waters and soft drinks until dessert. For 50 euros p.p., the prosecco can also keep flowing.

Is there parking available?

Definitely! The restaurant is even located at the end of the (free) public car park ‘Panquin’. Should this nevertheless be full, you can park your car in the (paying) underground car park ‘Markt’ at 5 minutes’ walking distance or you can park in the surrounding streets according to the regulations in force….

Can music be played?

Both in the restaurant and in the meeting room on the first floor, we can play your personal Spotify list via Sonos. This is not possible in the orangery, as it is not a soundproof room and is located in the restaurant. On the terrace, we can play music, but out of respect for our neighbours, we turn the volume knob down from 10pm.

Can there be dancing?

Of course! Do you want to throw a party and like to work with a DJ to do so? Then you should look for someone who also has a music and lighting installation. We ourselves only have 6 light spots (ground model in any colour), but we can certainly also call on our partner for this type of installation.

Is there a projector available?

We have a mobile screen (width 1.6m) and a projector that we can set up for you at any location. Just connect it to your laptop and you’re off.

Do you also offer breakfast?

In combination with the rental of one of our venues, we can provide breakfast (20 euros p.p.) or brunch (35 euros p.p.).

Do you have a lunch formula?

When you rent one of our locations, you can opt for a sandwich lunch (18 euros p.p. – with sidedish 22 euros p.p.) or the chef’s weekly lunch menu (30 euros p.p. – appetiser, main course, coffee). And of course, there is always the option of enjoying all the goodies Canapé has to offer in the afternoon with our Chef’s Choice or Chef’s Favourites formula (50 euros or 75 euros p.p.).

Is there a lift?

No. You can only reach the first floor by stairs.
